Our clinical support team consists of highly trained ophthalmic technicians and orthoptists who will assist with your initial assessment prior to your review with our specialists and with any investigations that may be required. All of our Orthoptists are Australian Orthoptic Board registered.
Brenda is one of our Senior Orthoptists who had completed her degree at the University of Sydney. She assists with the assessment and management of cataract, glaucoma and retinal patients. Brenda is dedicated in delivering best possible patient care. She speaks English, Cantonese and some Mandarin. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, snowboarding, snorkelling, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Kim is one of our Senior Orthoptists since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2005. She has many years’ experience working in ophthalmology practices and has extensive knowledge of general ophthalmology, cataract, glaucoma and retinal conditions. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive ocular examinations to achieve accurate results for all her patients. As a busy mother of two young girls, Kim brings her family experience to work as a caring and approachable orthoptist.
Damian completed his studies with a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney followed by a Masters of Orthoptics at University of Technology, Sydney. Damian completed his long-term placement at Lady Cilento’s Children Hospital in Brisbane.
In his spare time Damian enjoys playing sports like touch football and basketball, going to the cinemas and pub trivia. Damian enjoys getting to know the patients that visit the clinic as well as hearing the elaborate stories they have to share.
Kate has been an ophthalmic technician since 2005. She attended the University of Technology, Sydney where she completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics in 1999 and then fell in love with the ophthalmic field while living on the Gold Coast. Kate has two beautiful and cheeky boys, and besides them keeping her on her toes she enjoys getting out and about to explore and experience what life has to offer.
The administration team consist of experienced medical receptionists and an overseeing practice manager who are dedicated to ensure your visit is pleasant and efficient.
Nicole has been a Receptionist at Retina & Macula Specialists since 2015. Nicole’s previous experience includes working in private hospitals and 20 years in the banking industry, although her current job is the one she has enjoyed the most. Nicole enjoys working with our doctors and patients and as they are very personable, which makes it very easy to come to work each day. Outside of work Nicole is a mum to two great kids and spends her free with practising Yoga and enjoying fine wine & dining.
Lisa started working as a Receptionist in early 2018. Before joining this team, Lisa working in the electricity industry for 18 years. After that it was time for a change and that’s when she joined Retina and Macula Specialists. Lisa also loves to travel and has two wonderful teenagers that keep her busy. In her spare time she likes to go to the gym, take her dog for long walks and loves to entertain.
Terri joined us as a receptionist mid 2017. She and her family spent 6 years living in Germany for her husband’s work. She and her family were lucky enough to travel all over Europe in that time for holidays and as their two daughters went to an international school, they travelled to many countries to compete in sport competitions. On returning to Australia she worked in a Private Hospital environment and enjoyed immensely the interaction with both patients, doctors and the staff. This was something she was able to continue to enjoy once moving across to Retina & Macula Specialists.
Julie joined our team as a receptionist in 2018. Before joining this fantastic practice, Julie worked for many years at David Jones Elizabeth Street Store. In her spare time Julie absolutely loves travelling, enjoys snow skiing and swimming at the beach.
